'My life is in danger' - Pastor says after colleague was shot dead
He said his family had been living in fear and they have been forced to move the church.
A senior pastor of a church in Mombasa, Kenya
has claimed his life is in danger after his colleague, George Muriki,
was shot dead a week earlier.
Martin Ng’olua of Maximum Revival Centre Church alleged he has been receiving numerous death threats.
He made the statement at the church burial of late pastor Muriki at Thuuru Village in Igembe Central, Meru County.
Muriki was assassinated by unknown gunmen on January 11, 2015.
“We are disturbed by the killing of our brother in the church compound.
"I am bitter because my life is also in danger. Some people have been trailing me.
"But I am not afraid of death. I am ready to die for my faith,” pastor Ng’olua said.
He said his family had been living in fear and they have been forced to move the church.
During
the funeral attended by Meru Deputy Governor, Raphael Muriungi and
Igembe Central MP, Kubai Kiringo, various speakers asked the government
to ensure that justice is done and the family of the dead man
compensated.
Mr Muriungi called for security to be stepped up at the Coast to stop the attacks on churches and preachers.
