INEC opens 245 registration centres for PVC collection in Lagos

WorldStage Newsonline-- The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has opened 245 registration centres for collection of Permanent Voters Card (PVC) in Lagos compared with only 20 points in the Local Government offices before now.

The resident electoral commissioner for INEC, Lagos Sate, Akin Orebiyi said on Wednesday that the commission was working hard to ensure that all voters in Nigerian get their PVC before February elections.

He said INEC had released the register of voters and the list of candidates for the first batch of the elections; the presidential as well as the national assembly elections.

“We are already receiving non sensitive materials like, over 15000 ballot boxes, over 5000 smart card readers and we are still expecting more, showing that we are preparing for the election,” he said.
