Wale was born in Northwest, Washington, D.C. on September 21, 1984. His parents are of the Yoruba ethnic group of southwestern Nigeria and moved to the United States from Austria in 1979.

The rapper who is set to launch his fourth album on March 21, 2015 is quite close with top music producer Don Jazzy and even praised his work on Twitter.

Wale was in Nigeria in November 2013 where he was a guest at the Johnnie Walker StepUp2Vip party where he performed his hit song ‘Bad’ with Seyi Shay. The dread haired rapper  unfortunately couldn’t make it to Ice Prince’s Fire of Zamani concert.
